German Under Threat: A Message from Frank Finlay

October 29, 2009

Dear Colleagues,

Recent months have seen announcements of closures of German departments/units at a number of institutions, most recently at Leicester.

Anecdotally, there is evidence of pressure being felt elsewhere.

I am hoping to present a survey of activity to the next AGS meeting and would be grateful if you would let me know of any plans to curtail activity in your institutions. You can e-mail me privately at F.J.Finlay@leeds.ac.uk or post a message to this blog.
